LAS VEGAS – Deyonta Davis has moved on from NBA draft night 2016.
The former Muskegon and Michigan State standout, who many thought was a late lottery pick, fell to the first pick of the second round.
More than a year later, he appears poised to earn a rotation spot with the Memphis Grizzlies.
In just under 24 minutes per game for the Grizzlies’ Las Vegas Summer League squad, the second-year big man averaged 7.3 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.3 blocks and a steal in six games.
The Grizzlies’ strong performance ended Sunday night with a loss to the Los Angeles Lakers in the semifinals.
