MINNEAPOLIS — Aaron Henry shed his defender with a quick fake and back cut. Cassius Winston threaded a perfect pass through a crease.

Henry caught it in stride, coiling his springy legs as he zeroed his sites on the rim for a two-handed dunk off both feet. The nation — in his hometown, on opening night, 8 minutes, 45 seconds into his first collegiate game — was about to get to know Michigan State’s freshman.
