ALLENDALE - Devontae Dobbs wasn't a fan of football when he was young.
In fact, he thought the sport was "real stupid."
Then one day, at about 9 years old, Dobbs sat in his bedroom and watched an NFL game between the Seattle Seahawks and Kansas City Chiefs. He liked what he saw, had a change of heart and started playing in the Detroit PAL Youth Football League.
"After that," Dobbs recalled, "I just started loving it."
It proved to be a very wise decision at a young age. Dobbs, 17, who is heading into his junior year at Belleville High School, is one of the top recruits in the nation in the 2019 class.
