Ypsilanti Prep's second game of its inaugural season was closer than the final score may let on.

Though Duncanville High School (Texas) on Saturday defeated the Ypsi Prep Ball Boys, 79-65, the fledgling program, led by five-star Michigan State basketball commit Emoni Bates, hung nicely with a polished and powerful Panthers squad. It was a single-digit game until the closing minutes as Duncanville, a defending Texas state champion, made multiple clutch free throws and forced turnovers down the stretch.
