Michigan hockey got its Big 4 — sophomores Matty Beniers, Brendan Brisson, Kent Johnson and Owen Power — back from the Beijing Olympics this weekend. Now the Wolverines need their mojo back, too.
Despite the return of their top four scorers Friday and Saturday night against Notre Dame, the Wolverines dropped both games, missing out on a chance to catch Minnesota for first place in the Big Ten, and the first-round bye in March’s conference tournament. The Golden Gophers’ title is their fifth regular-season title in Big Ten play, and their first since 2017.
