The Michigan-Michigan State football rivalry spans all the way back to 1898.
The 110th meeting between the Wolverines and Spartans is set for this Saturday, Oct. 7, at Michigan Stadium, and it will be a historic occasion. Kickoff from the Big House is set for 7:30 p.m., the first night game in the history of the series.
Michigan has had its way with MSU over the years, leading the series 69-35-5. Since the Spartans joined the Wolverines in the Big Ten in 1953, Michigan’s lead in the series is 36-26-2.
In the past quarter-century, it’s been more of a rivalry in terms of competitiveness on both sides, as Michigan has 14 wins compared to MSU’s 11 during that time.
