Enrico Blasi was fired recently after 20 years as head coach at Miami. His record was 398-311-76, with two Frozen Four appearances, including that fateful 2009 championship game loss in OT when his team led by two goals late.
Like a lot of other similar programs, Miami became a victim of its own success. The sustained excellence that was created in the program started to attract blue-chip recruits. But as many have found out, that's a double-edged sword, since a lot of those guys are not always fully invested in the program you helped create. Other high-end recruits never showed up at all.
