Ben Paulides, who played four years at Miami from 2011-15, passed away earlier this week at the age of 29 from an apparent suicide.
On Twitter, Paulides' dad, David, wrote, "Ben lost his battle with mental illness. ... I miss him beyond words. Please pray for Ben’s soul, he’s on the journey to heaven.”
Paulides was diagnosed with bipolar disorder while at Miami. He had overcome it to work as a film director with his father's production company, working on the documentary called Missing 411, about missing children in rural areas.
Former Miami coach Rico Blasi said, "Today we remember and celebrate the life of Ben.
