Giancarlo Stanton crushed a fastball from Caleb Smith into the third deck at Yankee Stadium in the first inning Monday night.
His drive missed the mark well foul, however.
That was as close as Stanton would get to a hit in his first game against his former team.
Unfortunately for the Marlins, every other starter in the New York Yankees’ lineup spent the rest of the game teeing off their pitchers in a 12-1 rout in the Bronx.
