Who'd have thunk? Pitching delivers again for Marlins in win over Rockies | Miami Herald

All of a sudden, the Marlins can pitch.

Caleb Smith kept the Conga line moving on Sunday with another superb outing, as the Marlins captured their second straight series with a 3-0 victory over the Rockies.

Smith turned in seven scoreless innings to record his first Major League victory, one in which he held Colorado to a pair of singles while striking out nine. In his previous start, Smith struck out 10 Brewers in six innings but failed to get a decision.

It marked the seventh consecutive game that the Marlins’ starter held the opponent to two or fewer runs, and the sixth straight of one run or less.
