It’s slim pickings at this time of year. The vast majority of proven major league players who intend to continue their careers in 2021 have latched on with teams and reported to spring training.
The Marlins don’t have any more glaring needs to address for the upcoming season, but even following the signing of Gio Gonzalez, they still have room to add depth. MLB is allowing teams to roster up to 75 players in major league camp. Gonzalez brings Miami’s total to 74 (39 pitchers and 35 position players).
Will they use that final spot when there’s barely three weeks of Grapefruit League competition left?
