Tonight marked the 4,000th Marlins regular season game. Would they win in some spectacular fashion? Unsurprisingly no, they instead were shutout eight nothing. The Marlins had six hits on the night but they were scattered across the nine innings. The pitching was not there again which looks to be a continuing issue for The Fish.
Trevor Richards would have a marathon first inning.
Comically enough Richards would than give up four runs on three pitches in the bottom of the fourth. A triple by Christian Yelich (who went one for two with two runs and an RBI) and back to back home runs for Ryan Braun and Travis Shaw.
