The Miami Marlins will add Lewis Brinson and Sandy Alcantara – two players with Major League experience, to its expanded roster beginning next week. MLB.com’s Joe Frisaro reported the news on Sunday.
“The Marlins haven’t fully decided on how many players will be added when rosters expand in September, but manager Don Mattingly on Sunday confirmed two rookies who project into the long-term plans of the organization will be heading to the big leagues,” Frisaro wrote.
Brinson was in the team’s Opening Day lineup against the Chicago Cubs.
