Let's travel back in time to two weeks ago.
On this Monday not too long ago, April 23, the Miami Marlins had just dropped their series opener against the Los Angeles Dodgers 4-2. That wasn't anything new. The loss dropped the Marlins to 5-17 at that point in the year. They had now lost eight of their last nine games.
