As the minutes ticked closer to Tuesday’s 4 p.m. trade deadline, the Marlins were the only team in the majors that hadn’t pulled off a deal in July.

With only hours remaining before the deadline, the Marlins dealt veteran reliever Brad Ziegler to the Arizona Diamondbacks for minor-league reliever Tommy Eveld.
The trade came as little surprise. Ziegler stands to become a free agent following the season and wasn’t part of the team’s future plans.
