The Cubs maul the Marlins 14-2.

Jarlin García was due for a bad game, it was just inevitable. His numbers were too immaculate and the sample size was small. This was the second time the Cubs would get to see his stuff and they jumped all over it. The main issue García had was missing location with his pitches.

The first inning would set the tone for the night. After walking Ben Zorbist, Kris Bryant would come up and make García pay for his first mistake. J.T. Realmuto set up low and inside, while García’s pitch went about waist high across the middle of the plate.
