The Marlins got shutout game one against the Royals Friday night. The Fish had seven hits in the game spread across seven different players. No one had a multi-hit game and the Marlins struggled to take advantage of their limited opportunities. Pablo López pitched well enough, he only gave up two runs over six and a third innings of work.
The Marlins got their first runner into scoring position during the second inning. Austin Dean and Lewis Brinson each singled to set things up. Bryan Holaday grounded out to end that threat.
