TB 6, MIA 4; Pablo López strong, but Marlins blow lead in ninth

Anthony Bass was two outs away from securing the first Marlins win of 2021 and his first save since joining the team via free agency. Instead, he’s largely responsible for extending their season-opening losing streak, blowing the save opportunity in Friday night’s 6-4 defeat.

The first half of the game was eerily similar to Opening Day. Yarbrough and López weren’t quite in the same dominant form that Tyler Glasnow and Sandy Alcantara had been, but the results were comparable: zeroes on the scoreboard entering the sixth inning.
