The Marlins traded slugging first baseman Justin Bour to the Phillies on Friday for a minor league player, a source confirmed.
Bour leads the Marlins with 19 home runs and was in his first year of salary arbitration.
To complete the deal, the Marlins are also sending cash to the Phillies. Bour is still owed about $1 million this season. He was under team control through the 2020 season.
Bour turned into a bargain find for the Marlins, who acquired him from the Cubs in the minor-league phase of the 2009 Rule 5 draft.
