The Miami Marlins could be adding another former MLB player who is familiar with manager Don Mattingly to the team’s coaching staff.
Hensley Meulens, come on down.
According to reports and rumors, Meulens is not one of the finalists for the manager job and now appears headed for Miami. According to Jon Heyman of MLB Network, Meulens and the Marlins are discussing a position on the coaching staff. Meulens and Marlins manager Don Mattingly played together with the Yankees in the early 1990s.
The front office and Mattingly are still in the process of filling out their staff for the 2020 season.
