The Marlins topped the Phillies despite a late Philadelphia rally on Thursday night.
MIAMI -- Early offense and a quality start from Brad Hand lifted the Marlins to a 9-7 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies in front of 19,689 at Marlins Park on Thursday night.
"The first two innings, that was great to see," Manager Dan Jennings said of the first two frames during which the Marlins scored a combined eight runs. "I thought Brad [Hand] did a great job, gave us six innings which in itself is huge. Just some tremendous at-bats up and down the lineup all game.
