Trade talks involving Marlins outfielder Giancarlo Stanton have begun to intensify, according to multiple reports.
The San Francisco Giants have offered second baseman Joe Panik and two prospects for Stanton and second baseman Dee Gordon, according to Sirius XM Radio’s Craig Mish.
The Miami Herald previously reported that the Marlins want to trade Stanton, Gordon and third baseman Martin Prado in an attempt to trim payroll from $115 million to $90 million.
Meanwhile, the St. Louis Cardinals have offered a package believed to be built around around pitching prospects, according to Fox Sports’ Jon Paul Morosi.
