The scoring started early for the Marlins. Runs came early and often, paving the way to victory for the Fish. David Phelps churned out another great start, while his counterpart Nathan Eovaldi did not fair as well (understatement).
It all started in the bottom of the first inning, when, Derek Dietrich singled to left, followed by a Christian Yelich single, then, a Giancarlo Stanton single. With the bases loaded, Marcell Ozuna would come in clutch, singling to right, driving in Dietrich and Yelich. Holding a 2-0 lead, the Marlins would continue to push on offense, helped by a Justin Bour RBI single, scoring Stanton.
