This one is going to leave a mark.
The Marlins jumped out to a six-run lead by the fourth inning before letting the Mets score eight unanswered runs to take the first game of the three-game series at Shea Stadium.
Miami started their scoring in the second inning, when Chris Johnson hit a two-out RBI-single to score Giancarlo Stanton. Adeiny Hechavarria followed that with a double to score Johnson, then pitcher Tom Koehler helped out his own cause by singling in Heche for a 3-0 lead. Koehler started, and allowed two earned runs on seven hits and one walk over five innings.
