Miami Marlins closer A.J. Ramos was unable to secure another home victory for starter Jose Fernandez after coughing up a two-run lead late against the San Diego Padres; however, shortstop Adeiny Hechavarria came up clutch in the bottom half of the ninth when he delivered a walk-off home run to propel the Fish to a 5-2 victory.
Fernandez was shaky out of the gate as he loaded the bases in the first inning on a pair of singles and a walk. He was able to escape the inning unscathed after inducing an infield pop-up from Derek Norris.
