A three-run seventh inning wasn't enough for the Miami Marlins to overcome a dominant outing by starter Julio Teheran and a pair of strong offensive frames by the Atlanta Braves in a 6-3 loss against their division rivals.
Miami got an uncharacteristic five-inning performance out of their ace Jose Fernandez and was unable to muster enough offense against Teheran as the Braves defeated the Fish for the ninth time in 11 games this season.
Both starters looked dominant out of the gate with Fernandez and Teheran allowing a combined one batter to reach base through the first three innings.
