The home run king is still a Marlin. But the stolen base champion is not.

While they continued to await a decision from slugger Giancarlo Stanton, the Marlins on Thursday dealt speedy second baseman Dee Gordon to the Seattle Mariners for minor-league pitching prospect Nick Neidert, according to reports.

The move, which was first reported by Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, was the first cost-cutting measure in an effort designed to reduce payroll and rebuild the team’s weak farm system.

Gordon will make $10.5 million next season and a total of $37 million during the next three years.
