Miami Marlins Prospect Watch: Spotlight on Josh Roeder

Roeder is a 6′, 175 lb. right-handed pitcher from Plano, TX. After getting drafted in the 21st round of the 2015 draft by the New York Yankees, he spent parts of three seasons at the short-A New York-Penn League, with the Staten Island Yankees. Prior to the start of the 2018 season, the Yankees released him.

The Miami Marlins inked Roeder to a minor league deal on April 2nd, and assigned him to the Batavia Muckdogs. Roeder, now 25-years-old, is clearly too old to spend a fourth season in the NYPL. The Marlins sent him to Jupiter in the beginning of June.
