Miami Marlins morning news: Giancarlo Stanton could be done for season

Giancarlo Stanton is likely out the the remainder of the season. Stanton has been sidelined as a result of a hand injury, and according to Clark Spencer of The Miami Herald, an abnormal amount of scar tissue could prevent his return in 2015.

Stanton hasn’t taken batting practice since Monday in New York and doesn’t expect to step back in the cage again until Saturday at the earliest.

He said doctors in New York told him "the strength’s not there. Don’t overdo it. Do what’s manageable."

Miami is thriving in September.
