The Marlins will again have to wait to get a good look at what Garrett Cooper can do.
Cooper, the Marlins’ 27-year-old rookie first baseman/outfielder, is expected to return to the disabled list after re-injuring his right wrist over the weekend in Tampa Bay.
Cooper underwent an MRI on the wrist on Monday morning and was scheduled to see a hand specialist later in the day. The Marlins did not immediately have an exact timetable for how long they expect Cooper to be out.
Cooper suffered a partial tear of the tendon sheath of his right wrist in late March, which sidelined him for three months.
