The Marlins fell to the Braves yesterday by a score of 5-2 to bring their spring training record to 6-3. Dan Straily pitched three scoreless, but Adam Conley was saddled with the loss after giving up six hits and two earned runs in three innings pitched. On the hitting side of the equation, the lone highlight was a Bryan Holiday solo shot.
The Marlins will take the field again today at 1:05 eastern against the defending champion Houston Astros, with Dillon Peters drawing his second start.
Ellington’s shoulder trouble
The injury bug strikes every spring training and the Marlins are unfortunately no exception to the rule.
