The Shrimp dropped the first game of the two by a 4-3 margin to the Mississippi Braves. Jordan Yamamoto, who had been on a rehab assignment for most of August, started game two.
It was a masterful performance. Six innings of no-hit, no-walk work. The only blemish for Yamamoto was a third-inning plunking of Ray-Patrick Diddier. Diddier made it to second on a passed ball, but no further.
Yamamoto struck out nine and faced just one over the minimum, racking up an 85 GameScore in his third start at the double-A level. It wasn’t the highest GameScore he’s posted this season.
