For the second time inside a 24-hour period, Miami Marlins relief pitcher Junichi Tazawa, a right-hander, was tagged for three runs. The two performances increased his ERA for the season to 9.00 in 21 innings. He’s racked up a 6.57 ERA over his Marlins career, covering 75 1/3 innings. His 5.27 FIP while with the team is nearly two runs more than he had posted in seven years with the Boston Red Sox.
Tazawa was a decent pitcher while part of the Red Sox bullpen. In 2012, he struck out 45 in 44 innings, allowing only seven runs all season.
