In today’s Morning Catch, I announced that the 2015 MLB Trade Deadline activity had begun. This afternoon, the Marlins made their first of multiple expected deals before July 31st.
After continuous rumors swirling around a deal involving Steve Cishek, a trade has been made.
The 6’6 righty reliever will be shipped off to St. Louis in exchange for Double A closer Kyle Barraclough. Cishek lost his closer job earlier this year to A.J. Ramos, but has sported a 1.31 ERA in the middle relief role. Barraclough posted a 3-0 record with a 2.28 ERA and 12 saves in 2015 with St.
