The Marlins started losing to the Nationals in the second inning. The Fish had a big comeback-inning in the eighth. They scored four runs to tie up the game. José Ureña and the bullpen gave the game away in the tenth inning, giving up six runs to make it 10-4 Nationals.
The Nationals hit in bunches when it came to batting against Yamamoto. They were also able to take walks against a not always steady Yamamoto. The Nats got their first run during the second inning. Yan Gomes came up to the plate with two outs and doubled.
