MIA 2, ARI 5; Offense quiet in series-opening loss

Five days ago at loanDepot park, the Marlins had zero difficulty in figuring out Luke Weaver, tagging the right-hander for six earned runs on six hits in four innings of work. However, on a warm Monday night at Chase Field, Weaver’s revenge was well-represented, sending the Marlins to their third consecutive loss, 5-2.

Weaver, in 6 13 innings of baseball, blanked Miami’s lineup, allowing four hits, zero walks and striking out six batters, too. On the flip slide, it was Jordan Holloway, who was making his professional debut as a starting right-handed pitcher.
