The Miami Marlins traded reliever Steve Cishek to the St. Louis Cardinals for Kyle Barraclough, Marlins President Michael Hill announced Friday afternoon.
The 25-year-old has split time between Single-A Palm Beach and Double-A Springfield this season, combining for a 3-0 record with 12 saves (13 opportunities) and a 2.27 ERA. .
The 29-year-old Cishek was 2-6 with three saves on the season and a 4.5 ERA in 32 appearances. The Marlins selected him in the fifth round back in 2007 and he’s currently second all-time in team history in strikeouts by a reliever with 312.
