Marlins RHP Edward Cabrera, the team’s number one pitching prospect, has been promoted to the Major League roster and will start Wednesday, per the Marlins.
The Marlins announced the move in a Twitter video that showed Cabrera learning of the news from his coaches in Triple-A Jacksonville.
Cabrera has rocketed up prospect boards since his dominant showing in the 2019 season, and currently sits at number 30 on MLB Pipeline’s Top 100 list. He is currently the Marlins number two prospect in their Top 30 behind 2021 first round pick Khalil Watson.
