After the decision to fire manager Mike Redmond last night, Marlins general manager Dan Jennings transition from the front office to the dugout and serve as the team’s new manager, reports Jon Heyman of CBS Sports (Twitter link). Heyman reported last night that the Marlins’ choice would be “outside the box,” and MLB.com’s Joe Frisaro tweetted that it would be a “shocking” hire from within the organization. Jennings seems to fit both of those descriptions.
