The news for the Miami Marlins got worse this afternoon.
Prior to the start of the team’s 7-2 loss to the New York Mets in a series they could not muster a victory, the team announced that shortstop Miguel Rojas was placed on the 10-day I.L. with a hamstring strain.
In a corresponding move, the team has announced it had purchased the contract of infielder Deven Marrero from Triple-A New Orleans. As the team looks to add more players from their minor league system, the injury to their starting shortstop comes at a difficult time.
