The Miami Marlins may have to wait to sign some of their top draft picks because of the College Baseball World Series, but the organization did not have to wait to introduce second-rounder Nasim Nunez.
The high school sensation officially signed with the franchise on Monday. The 18-year=old shortstop from Collins Hill High School shortstop from Suwanee, Georgia was on hand to taking batting practice with the team and went through workout drills prior to the team’s 4-1 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals.
The experience may have seemed surreal to Nunez, who had signed a letter of intent to play college baseball at South Carolina next season.
