The Marlins have a one-year deal in place with left-handed pitcher Ross Detwiler. Two full months after MLB free agency officially got underway, he’ll be their first major league signing of the offseason, Craig Mish reports (confirmed by the Miami Herald’s Jordan McPherson and MLB Network’s Jon Heyman). Detwiler still needs to complete his physical before it’s official.
As recently as 2019, Detwiler was being utilized as a starting pitcher with the White Sox. The largest single-season workload of his career was 164 1⁄3 innings with the 2012 Nationals.
