The Miami Marlins hope the return of Jordan Yamamoto will help give this ball club a spark as he faces the Washington Nationals tonight.
The team announced the move to bring the 23-year-old back to the rotation ahead of the game against the team’s National League East rival. Miami will face Stephen Strasburg, who is 17-6 this season with a 3.49 ERA and 235 strikeouts this season.
The Marlins will face the hard-throwing righty the night after the team lost its 100th game of the season.
Yamamoto started this season on fire, winning his first four games after being called up from Double-A Jacksonville prior to the All-Star break.
