Marlins scouting Cuban prospect Yadiel Hernandez

The Marlins are not known for being too aggressive on the international front, but the club is scouting Cuban outfielder Yadiel Hernandez, according to Ben Badler of Baseball America.

Hernandez, 28, reportedly met with Marlins President Michael Hill at Marlins Park on Saturday.

Hernandez, a 28-year-old Cuban outfielder, had a private workout with the Marlins at Marlins Park on Saturday, with president of baseball operations Michael Hill among those in attendance.

Since he is exempt from international bonus pools, Hernandez will likely be an ideal fit for several clubs. Hernandez might be seeking a large deal and the Marlins don't appear to be in a position to give him one at this point.
