Marlins morning news: Dee Gordon dealt to Seattle

Related Topics: Dee Gordon

The Marlins took their first major step towards rebuilding from the bottom-up yesterday by dealing second baseman Dee Gordon to the Mariners for three minor league players, two of which were top seven prospects in Seattle. With the move in the books, the focus now turns back to a potential Giancarlo Stanton trade.

The Mariners did not trade for a second baseman, however, they traded for a center fielder.

While Miami has made it clear that cutting salary is a priority this winter, the move made yesterday cannot be declared a plain and simple salary dump.
