The Miami Marlins will be without pitcher Jose Urena for six games, as reported by MLB.com’s Joe Frisaro for “intentionally hitting” Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna with a pitch in the first inning of the game Wednesday at SunTrust Park.
It was Urena’s only pitch of the night and triggered benches to empty on both sides of the diamond. The 3-12 pitcher this season was tossed from the game. This is not the first time the Marlins will be without a starting pitcher because of suspension this season.
Veteran Dan Straily received a five-game ban for hitting San Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey in a game during the first half of the season.
