The Miami Marlins can ill afford to lose starting shortstop Miguel Rojas for an extended period of time. A hip injury has hampered the veteran, but he is expected back in the lineup soon.
Per Elizabeth Finny of MLB.com, “Rojas left Thursday afternoon’s game after three innings with right hip tightness sustained while running the bases.”
Rojas was injured in a game where left fielder Harold Ramirez hit a walk-off homer in the 12th inning giving the team a 5-4 victory at Marlins Park.
Rojas, who has swung a hot bat of late, was the subject of trade rumors this past week that never materialized.
