MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The Miami Marlins coaching staff will have a very familiar face next season.
Former Marlins manager Fredi Gonzalez is being brought back to be the team’s third base coach.
He replaces Lenny Harris, who was let go shortly after the season along with hitting coach Barry Bonds.
He’ll work under Miami manager Don Mattingly, who just finished his first season with the Marlins.
Gonzalez was the Marlins manager from 2007 to 2010 before being fired by owner Jeffrey Loria.
For the past six years Gonzalez has managed the Atlanta Braves. He was let go after the team started the 2016 season 9-28.
