Marlins Extend Winning Streak In 6-3 Victory Over Tigers

DETROIT (AP) — Garrett Cooper hit his first major league home run in the sixth inning, and that was the start of an impressive comeback by the Miami Marlins, who rallied for their fifth straight victory, 6-3 over the Detroit Tigers on Wednesday night.

The Tigers led 3-0 before Cooper’s solo shot. The Marlins then scored three runs in the seventh, and Brian Anderson added a two-run homer in the eighth.

Detroit has dropped eight in a row — and Sunday’s game was suspended with the Tigers trailing Oakland in the seventh inning.

Detroit starter Daniel Norris was solid, but with the Tigers up 3-1, he gave up a single to Harold Ramirez to start the seventh.
