Marlins callup JB Shuck helps Miami end three-game losing streak | Miami Herald

JB Shuck is on his fifth team in six Major League seasons. With the Marlins, Shuck might have found a landing spot.

Called up Friday from Triple A and inserted into the starting lineup, Shuck went 4 for 4 with a triple and scored on a heads-up play in the Marlins’ 7-2 victory over the Pirates.

He became the fourth player to record four hits in his Marlins debut, joining Jeff Conine, Carlos Delgado and Emilio Bonifacio.

It was a wacky night of baseball for the Marlins.

They scored one run on a two-out wild pitch with pitcher Dillon Peters standing at the plate, scored three more on an otherwise routine sacrifice fly, and scored another when Shuck raced home from second on a sacrifice bunt when the Pirates had no one covering the plate.
